Adjustable slit-seal configuration.
The slit-seal knives can be repositioned to match different tube widths or retracted when not required, allowing the unit to accommodate different production configurations.
One film tube. Multiple production possibilities.
Are you making full use of your extrusion line’s width?
When producing narrower film widths or bags, a wide extrusion line offers opportunities that are not always fully utilized.
With a Roll‑o‑Matic slit-seal unit equipped with directly heated knives, one tubular film can be divided longitudinally into two or more narrower tubes, while the newly created edges are sealed in the same process.
This opens up two production possibilities.
1- Produce multiple mother rolls simultaneously
Do you have a wide extruder but also produce narrower bags?
By adding a slit-seal unit after the extruder, you can produce multiple narrower tubular films simultaneously and wind them into separate mother rolls for later converting.
This allows you to make better use of your extrusion width when producing narrower tubular films for subsequent converting.
2- Feed multiple bag-making lanes directly from extrusion
When producing bags directly in-line, slit-seal allows one tubular film to be divided into multiple narrower tubes, each feeding a separate converting lane.
This helps you take full advantage of the extrusion line’s capacity while producing bags in multiple lanes.
Sealing expertise makes the difference
At Roll‑o‑Matic, sealing technology is one of our core competencies.
Our slit-seal units are engineered to customer specifications, slitting tubular film into narrower tubes while sealing the newly created edges.
Units can be equipped with up to six knives, with retractable knives allowing different lane configurations on the same unit.
Let’s explore your possibilities
Whether you want to produce multiple mother rolls or feed a multi-lane bag-making line directly from extrusion, we can help you find the right slit-seal configuration.
